Hardware Requirements

The following diagrams and lists show our recommendations for appropriate hardware and network topology to enable you to run BoxTop satisfactorily. Of course, one thing we can be sure of is change, so as new technology is developed and released we’ll keep updating this list with our recommendations.

It’s also possible your existing equipment will run BoxTop satisfactorily so please talk to us before spending your hard-earned cash or placing an order for new hardware or operating system software, we might be able to save you time and money!

10+ Users – Server – Recommended

  • Server Operating System: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 (x86 -32Bit or x64 -64Bit), Windows Server 2008 Standard or R2 (x86 -32Bit or x64 -64Bit)
  • Processor: Quad Core Intel Xeon
  • Memory: 4GB RAM (x86 -32Bit) – 8GB RAM (x64 -64Bit)
  • Disk Space: At least 4GB for BoxTop Server Software and an additional 2GB if you are considering remote users
  • Screen Resolution: Minimum 1024 x 768 16-bit Colour

10+ Users – Workstation – Recommended

  • Workstation Operating System: Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista Business or Higher, Windows 7 Professional or higher
  • Processor: Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz
  • Memory: 4GB RAM
  • Disk Space: 150MB
  • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 32-bit Colour or higher

10+ Users – Workstation – Minimum

  • Workstation Operating System: Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Processor: Intel Pentium CPU 1.6GHz
  • Memory: 2GB RAM
  • Disk Space: 150MB
  • Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768 16-bit Colour

2 – 10 Users – Server – Recommended
