Rough Runner

The team at BoxTop would like to thank all those who kindly donated to our chosen charity, The Stroke Association. Together we raised £1300 for this very worthwhile cause and it wasn’t achieved without a few injuries along the way. The course saw us negotiate some of the classic obstacles from TV shows like Takeshi’s Castle, Total Wipeout and Gladiators. Eventually we all managed to scale The Travelator and cross the finish line to a very welcoming bottle of beer and finishers medal.

Bring on the next one!!

BoxTop Technologies announces the opening of their new USA office…

Following on from our prolonged successes in Europe, Christopher Hewlett, CEO, is heading up BoxTop Technologies’ expansion in the USA and will be based in Houston, Texas – our first office ‘across the pond’!

Houston offers a well-educated and highly motivated workforce within a busy and professional business-friendly city. Also, as one of the fastest growing economic areas in the USA, the port of Houston is currently being enlarged and this should benefit international logistics and supply-chain providers.

With BoxTop now also based in Houston as well as the UK, we’re in a convenient geographical location to enhance the support provided for our existing customers across North America; we’re only an hour behind the East Coast, the same time zone as Chicago and only 2 hours ahead of our West Coast customers.

So Texas is a perfect starting point with its ideal central location. We are looking forward to accelerating our professional growth in this increasingly important market for a freight software development company.

Our new BoxTop office has only been open a few weeks and we have had plenty of interest in our unique freight management system and are delighted to already be welcoming new customers!

Best ever year for BoxTop at Multimodal 2014

The BoxTop exhibition team received many compliments about its extremely well presented and impressive stand at this year’s Multimodal Show, held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The three day event was very popular, according to the organisers, the number of visitors being up on previous years. Paul Richardson, BoxTop’s Business Development Manager says “I’m absolutely delighted. We really wanted to make the best impression possible. I thought it would be difficult to beat last year’s event but this was even better. Occupying 3 huge halls at the NEC gave the impression of space and created a more relaxed environment. It was very encouraging to see so many customers visiting our stand and we’re very happy with the quantity and quality of the leads received.” Paul was accompanied by his colleagues, Shane Paddington, Hanna Kavanagh and Christopher Hewlett.

BIFA 25th Anniversary Awards

Yesterday, Christopher Hewlett, Managing Director of BoxTop Technologies, was delighted to present the BIFA Freight Service Award for 2013 to Yusen Logistics (UK) for the Supply Chain Management category. Yusen Logistics (UK), in partnership with AstraZeneca, demonstrated a thorough approach to creating solutions across a wide range of transportation modes in a demanding market sector. Not only were they able to show clear and tangible financial benefits for the customer but also improved transit times, reduced stock levels and improvements in the quality and availability of information within the entire supply chain. The other finalists were Damco UK, OHL International and WS Logistics (Procurus).

The 2013 BIFA Freight Service Awards mark the event’s 25th anniversary. The event has long been sponsored by some eminent companies, including such names as British Airways, BoxTop Technologies, Maersk Sealand and Virgin Atlantic, and is recognised as one of the most prestigious in the industry; the competition encourages and rewards high standards and professionalism, representing the ultimate recognition of special achievements in different sectors of the industry. Past finalists and winners are very proud of their certificates and trophies, benefiting from enhanced company profiles through substantial media coverage in the trade press and high visibility at the awards ceremony itself.

The competition culminates in a ceremony luncheon, which over the years, has become an established annual event on the industry calendar. This year’s function was held on Thursday 16th January 2014 at the Brewery in London. The gathering of over 500 individuals representing BIFA Members and their guests provided a valuable opportunity to praise the well-deserving winners, as well as networking with colleagues, customers and other industry representatives.

Julia Bradbury, one of the most experienced television presenters broadcasting today, was this year’s event host.
